ESonix V2 released!

After almost one year of researches and active developments, the numeric team is happy to announce the release of ESonix V2!

ESonix: Online explosive decompression Calculator

You can download our new fact sheet from here: ESonixV2 facts sheet

Among miscellaneous new functionalities, compared to ESonix 1.X, we are proud to highlight (without any particular order):

Extensive documentation

A big effort has been made on the ESonix end-user manual. An online version can be found here.

New Thermodynamical models

New thermodynamical models (or engines in the ESonix terminology) are added, providing dynamical behavior to Discharge Coefficients. Those engines are even more accurate than the previous ones (at least compared to Airbus Analysis).

Merged Load cases even more friendly

In some cases, regulations allow small compartments to be merged with surrounding ones. This is transparently done within the ESonix model by specifying volumes to be merged for a given volume explosion. ESonix previous behavior was to drop the merged volumes and its related connections for this specific load case. New behavior allows to transparently remap initial configuration for the results and the post-processing.

This makes post-processing for merged compartments load cases more friendly and completely transparent (new option “raw_merging”). More info here.

Dynamic Aircraft Layout visualisation

The dynamic layout allows the user to plot the venting status (mass flows, pressure differential, etc.) of the Aircraft at any moment for any load case.

This tool is a major asset to understand air flow in the Aircraft, leading possibly to a better layout composition.

Related events are now available in the dynamic plotter

Plotting related events (decompression items, panels, doors, etc. opening) is now possible from the dynamic plotter tool. A new major tool to quickly understand what’s going on with your pressure differential!

Dynamical opening available

Dynamical opening are now available for hinged panels (doors flaps, etc.) and translating panels by adding an optional “Dyn_Attributes” tab (cf. Dynamical Attributes).

No need to evaluate your item’s opening time before the run: ESonix dynamically takes care of this problem for you!

Sensitivity Analysis

Sensitivity analysis can be performed based on previous run. Very handy to check the influence of a set of parameters. The manual provides a Sensitivity example .

Unified Model

New optional volumes parameters “deor” and “veor” and connections parameters “ovar” and “exvar” allow to define a unified model.

This is especially useful in case of floor structure certification, where detailed and poly-configurations cargo need to be taken into account. for cargo configurations.

Those variables are used and described in our Tutorial #04.

Unified Model

Better control on ESonix magics

A preprocessed model can now be downloaded from the result page to check how ESonix “fills the gaps” of the user model.

Filled model

Model Validator

A model validator has been added to the project page. This allows to pre-validate your model before triggering a new run. Errors and Warnings are clearly reported.

Load Case Calculator

A Load Case Calculator has been added to the toolbox. Based on standard atmosphere, this new tool helps the engineer to determine the load cases to apply to its model.

You can check it here.

And Many more…

  • User interface more reactive.
  • Collaborative work enhanced with “official run” flags.
  • Spreadsheet results more user-friendly and shiny.
  • Analysis default parameters defined from Project form.
  • Possibility to renumber and rename decks as per your expectations.

And as always, registring and testing limited models is free, do, do not hesitate to register!
